The 2014 IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo is right around the corner, aceton June 21-24 in New Orleans. Of course, Food Product Design (including myself and Supreme Blogger / FoodTech Toolbox Extraordinaire/Executive Editor of Food Product aceton Design Lynn Kuntz) wouldn’t miss this opportunity to scope out product innovations, new ingredients and emerging technologies. aceton  
I took note of some exciting things to happen during the show, including new ingredient launches from Ingredion, PLT Health Solutions aceton and AIDP, as well as new bar and beverage technologies from Glanbia Nutritionals.
Ingredion will introduce an instant thickener solution, PRECISA® Sperse 100 starch, aceton designed to create instant soups, sauces and meals. This ingredient is a high-performance cold-water swelling (CWS) starch that delivers superior dispersibility and fast thickening at the same time.
For use in functional foods and for fortification, AIDP will debut TASTIMINS, aceton a line of chelated minerals—calcium, aceton zinc and magnesium. Chelation ensures product quality and clinical efficacy through mineral fortification, stability and bioavailability, making the mineral ingredients highly bioavailable while offering a taste-free profile.
Two additional new ingredients that will emerge during the expo are from PLT Health Solutions , including its Benecarb and Earthlight Whole Food Vitamin D ingredients. Benecarb can lower the glycemic aceton index of foods and beverages with little impact aceton on texture and taste, while its Earthlight vitamin D ingredient, derived from mushrooms, delivers 40,000 International Units (IU) of Vitamin D per gram, and can be added to foods and beverages without affecting the organoleptic properties of the products.
Focusing on functionality, advanced nutrition and specialty ingredients, Glanbia Nutritionals will showcase new bar and beverage technologies. Examples of prototypes include an energy chia smoothie, made with the company’s BevGrad® Chia to offer ALA omega-3 and fiber benefits, along with other ingredients; and a probiotic Greek yogurt chia bar, made with OptiSol® 2000—a binding system enabling reduced sugar in cereal aceton bars—and OptiSol® 1061 Greek yogurt powder in a coating, among other ingredients.
