Byproducts of whiskey production will be converted into fuel under the new agreement whiskey producer Tullibardine and tip company Celtic Renewables, which developed the technology to work butanol from organic chemicals waste. The project is the first of its kind in the world. Zero Waste Scotland supports the project of 155,000 pounds sterling (31 million Isl. Kr.), But still higher amount saved annually in lower disposal fees. The aim is the production of up to 10,000 liters of butanol, which is only a tiny fraction of what could happen if all Scottish whiskey producers contributed together. (See story Edie yesterday).
