the projection to the year 2021 for the total needed water in the mining processes, both for the functioning and the new projects, will see a growing demand from the 13.8 mᶟ/sec of the 2013 to 27,7 mᶟ/sec for the 2021: this means a 100% increase in the total consumption of water in eight years .
The big challenge of this great mining region and its ingenious people lies in the total filtering and re-cycling of the used water and, above all, in the transportation, filtering and increasing use of the sea-water isopropanol in the processes.
The goal is to reduce the consumption of the augmented amount of needed fresh water from 100% to 38% and to increase the use of the alternative water, in particular the seawater, reaching a usage of 5,3 mᶟ/sec.
Of course, the new mining projects will be more efficient in terms of introducing the new techniques, compared to those ones that are already in activity, isopropanol but everybody is working on putting his or her own effort in the direction of environmental protection and use of alternative resources.
